Shannon Honeycutt, O.D. was born and raised in Springfield Township. Growing up, Dr. Honeycutt’s favorite hobby was taking dance lessons at Sharon Rae Dance Studio (now Dance Beatz) in Ellet. She graduated from Springfield High School in 2010.
When she was young, Dr. Honeycutt dreamed of becoming a teacher, but when she experienced a corneal ulcer in high school, it sparked her interest in optometry. After visiting a med center, a pharmacist, and her primary care doctor, who patched her eye and asked “Who is your eye doctor?” she realized that there was more to optometry than “one or two?” and glasses and contacts. Her optometrist knew exactly what to do to treat her eye infection and had her feeling better in no time. Dr. Honeycutt admired her optometrist so much that she decided to become an optometrist too.
She graduated from The University of Mount Union in 2014 with a degree in biochemistry. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2018.
